Alt-Tab Terminator

Alt-Tab Terminator is a Windows app that replaces the native Alt+Tab functionality, and is the successor to VistaSwitcher and TaskSwitchXP. When this combination of keys is pressed in the Microsoft operating system, a floating window appears with the thumbnails of the apps you have open. With Alt-Tab Terminator, that window is replaced by an app that displays full-size previews and a complete listing of the apps you have open.

How to use Alt-Tab Terminator

Using Alt-Tab Terminator is as easy as using the native Alt+Tab functionality. Even though the window is a little different, each time you press the Tab key (keeping the Alt key pressed), you will switch tabs. You can also select a tab with the mouse, the arrow keys, or even search by name if you have lots of tabs open. To search, you have to open the app from the taskbar or hold down the Alt key, otherwise the window will disappear.

Apps updated in real time

The preview displayed is updated in real time. For example, if you are watching a video on a streaming platform, you will notice it is updated in real time. What's more, if the window is not in full screen mode, the whole screen and the window's position on the desktop will be displayed.

Keep tabs comfortably at hand

At the bottom of the Alt-Tab Terminator screen, you can choose which apps are displayed. This means you can create shortcuts to your favorite apps to find them faster. No matter where they are on the desktop, they will always be in the same place, so you can open them more quickly wherever they are.

A number of commands to choose from

Alt-Tab Terminator can also run in full screen, and you can customize a range of settings. What's more, there are additional commands for each tab, so you can minimize, maximize, restore, run or close them.
